Description

A Cherokee story tells of a bird with big feet who found them very vexing. One day, he happened on a grasshopper who suggested that those large feet might be of use in a distressing situation. A mother bird was in a panic as a farmer was clearing some land and her nest was in the path of disaster. The big-footed bird quickly placed one egg on each of his large feet, and the mother bird took the last egg. The family was swiftly moved to safety. Those irritatingly big feet had saved the day and the little family.

About the Artist

After traveling the United States and Europe, Robin returned to her Cherokee home of Oklahoma. She finds that her art gives her quiet nature a voice and strengthens her connection to her Cherokee heritage. After discovering journaling, she refocused and started a renewed exploration of her art in a more meaningful way. Creating art on the small page has caused a metamorphosis of her style and technique. Robin has since exhibited at numerous Native American art shows and has won several awards.
