About the Artist

I am Cindy Evans, a Cherokee/Shawnee award-winning artist. I was influenced by my grandmother, mother and sister, who have always encouraged me to create the beauty of my culture in every garment that I make. I enjoy designing and making Cherokee Tear dresses, ribbon shirts, ribbon skirts, shawls and purses for our people to wear, from adults to children. I have a studio, Two Needles Native Design, in Chelsea, Oklahoma, where I reside.
