I’ve noticed that when people talk of Native Americans, they’ll often refer to us in the past tense. It’s like they see right through us. Almost like we’re invisible to them. But we are still here. We endure and we persist.

About the Artist
Holly Carlile is an Oklahoma-born artist. She became fascinated by ancient Egypt when she was 8 years old; thus, her interest in art began. While her enchantment with Egypt has never wavered, she now illustrates animals and nature. One of her favorite subjects for her art is her lop-eared rabbit, Okayama. Holly works primarily in watercolor, but occasionally dabbles in acrylic. When she’s not painting, she’s making beadwork, ranging from bracelets to necklaces and keychains.
