About the Artist
Adrienne Keene is a Cherokee Nation citizen originally from Southern California, but now lives on the Cherokee Reservation in Tulsa. She is a scholar, writer, and artist and her visual work explores themes of Indigenous and Cherokee futurisms using traditional Cherokee art forms like basketry, beadwork, and twining with contemporary and found materials. She is a 2025 - 2027 Tulsa Artist Fellow, where she is working on an essay collection, researching Indigenous representations in popular culture, and expanding her visual arts practice in fiber art.
