Description

Sarah (Seli) Stewart is a Cherokee Nation citizen and artist who enjoys sharing cultural knowledge through crafting. Her favorite workshop to teach is cornhusk doll making, while telling the tale of why the doll has no face. Seli hopes to be remembered for her contributions to Cherokee art and teaching rather than her physical appearance: as the cornhusk doll's story teaches us. This is why she felt cornhusk art was the perfect medium for an artist self-portrait. Wado!
