About the Artist
Alisha is new to pottery, having attended her first class in December 2024, though she has previously dabbled in acrylic and watercolor painting. She was first drawn to pottery as a means to grow closer to her Cherokee heritage and connect with the community. She uses the art form to learn more, drawing inspiration from old Cherokee stories and present-day initiatives such as the Heirloom Garden. Outside of pottery, Alisha loves to bake, often preferring that her art come in an edible form. She lives in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, with her fiancé and their cat, Wesa.
