About the Artist
I am a 3rd-generation Cherokee double-wall basket weaver and full-blood Cherokee. I have lived in the Kenwood community my whole life and come from a long line of talented and sought-after basket weavers.
My mother and sister are both buckbrush basket weavers and Cherokee National Treasures. My mother began teaching me to weave when I was 12 years old. I wrote her biography in the Cherokee National Treasure book. I currently help my sister teach basket weaving to surrounding communities.
