Description
This work is based on the story of when the animals and the birds had a game of ball. The gorget is handmade from white clay and a bat decal. The metal used is copper wire and findings. The beads are made of glass and river cane harvested from a location in Cherokee Nation. There is a tiny stick made of river cane and wire for the bat to play. This is one of my favorite stories because the message is to value others, give them a chance to develop their full potential, and always work as a team.

About the Artist
I have made art my whole life. I am an artist and a high school art teacher in my hometown of Omaha. I prefer to work with natural materials, especially clay. I grow many of the plant materials I work with, such as corn husks, gourds, corn beads, and broom corn. Gardening is part of my art practice. I am from the Alberty family.
