Description
This is a small clay pot, crafted from clay collected from Lake Thunderbird in Oklahoma. The clay was processed, formed, detailed, and fired at home. Flint stones from the Illinois River were ground down to create the highlighted features of the pottery. The pot was then burnished with a smooth river stone, also collected from the Illinois River. The pattern on the pot evokes the image of lightning striking water. "Akcakhetv" in Mvskoke.
