Description
One-of-a-kind cornhusk doll art display featuring a Cherokee woman in a tear dress. All cornhusks were hand-dyed with commercial dye and fixative to ensure vibrant colors remain. The tear dress is entirely constructed from cornhusks. She has yarn hair and egg gourd seed earrings. Her head has a whole dried walnut in its shell. Her chest has a halved walnut shell.

Sarah (Seli) Stewart is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She began making cornhusk doll art displays around 2022, many which have received various awards or are on display at schools across the Cherokee Nation. She enjoys recreating Cherokee stories and history through natural and recycled items found in the home and in nature.
