About the Artist
Lillie Vann, a Cherokee potter from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, carries forward a legacy deeply rooted in the Cherokee Nation. Inspired by her grandmother, renowned Cherokee artist Jane Osti, Lillie began her pottery journey at age 12. Under Osti’s mentorship, she learned both the techniques and the cultural significance of Cherokee pottery.
Lillie’s work has gained recognition at events such as the Cherokee Art Market, Cherokee National Holiday Show, Eiteljorg Museum Indian Market and Santa Fe Indian Market. Blending tradition with contemporary creativity, Lillie’s pottery tells the stories of her people while evolving the art form.
Through her hands, Cherokee pottery becomes a living legacy, bridging generations and ensuring the continuation of her cultural heritage.
