Description
Miniature egg gourd mask made by hand. One side is blue to represent peace, and the other is red to represent war. It has a scalp lock made with horsehair and metal hoop earrings. This represents the two sides of a human that are always battling inside to see who wins. His ears and nose are cut out of the other half of the egg gourd and glued on.

Gourd, horse hair, metal jump ring, permanent markers, E6000, sinew.

Pamela Bakke resides in Mayes County and has worked for Cherokee Nation for 22 years. She teaches cultural crafts and traditional games. She enjoys all types of Native crafts and is always interested to learn new things and more about her heritage. She has three children, eleven grandchildren and one great grandson and enjoys spending time with them and teaching them about the heritage and culture.
