Description
One-of-a-kind cornhusk doll art display featuring a shawl dancer. All husks were hand-dyed by the artist using commercial dye and fixative to ensure the vibrant colors remain. The doll, clothing, hair and accessories are entirely made of cornhusks. Her head has a whole walnut in shell and her chest has a halved walnut shell. She is standing on a wooden base that is covered with faux fur that has been shaved and painted to look like grass.

Sarah (Seli) Stewart is an enrolled citizen of the Cherokee Nation. She began making cornhusk doll art displays around 2022, many which have received various awards or are on display at schools across the Cherokee Nation. She enjoys recreating Cherokee stories and history through natural and recycled items found in the home and in nature.
