Description
"Legends of the Rez," a fully beaded canvas work of art, with a buckskin frame, & buckskin backing. It is the story of Bigfoot riding a custom bike with a beautiful backdrop of trees and sky. I beaded the piece and chose the colors of the sky for the viewer.
Views can look at the piece in three ways: It's an early morning sunrise and Bigfoot is entering Cherokee Nation, it's dusk and Bigfoot is leaving the reservation, or Bigfoot is taking a cruise and getting that wind therapy on the custom-beaded bike.
No matter who you are, you have heard at least one bigfoot story from the Rez.
Materials

About the Artist
A second-generation beadwork artist, Andrea was taught by her mother, Mary Tidwell, and has been beading for over 40 years. Her work has been purchased by countless people across the United States and overseas. She has taught beadwork to students at the University of Arkansas's Native American Student Association and Bell School as part of their Heritage Day. Once upon a time, she was brought in as a vendor for Crystal Bridges for one of their Native American art showings. Throughout her beadwork career, Andrea's work has been sold in numerous museums, including the Five Civilized Tribes Museum. She creates wearable works of art, from earrings to her specialty, Medallion necklaces. She also loves to create larger pieces, one of which, "We the People, Life on Turtle Island," a 20x26 " fully beaded canvas, earned multiple awards. The piece won Best in Show at the Cherokee National Holiday Art Show, the People's Choice Award, and a Merit Award at the Trail of Tears Art Show and was featured in the Oklahoma Travel Guide. Andrea was born and raised in Stilwell, Oklahoma.
