Learn the fundamentals of two-point needle appliques, a versatile technique for beadwork and other textile arts.  Expert guidance from Cherokee artist Valerie Kagan and all materials are provided.  Valerie is a Tahlequah based artist, U.S. Army veteran, and Cherokee Nation citizen.  She has worked with sewing and beading since she was a child.  She began to learn two-point needle applique from Cherokee National Treasure Martha Berry in 2013.  Her work includes Cherokee-style purses, bandolier bags, sashes, graduation stoles, moccasins, and pins.  Ceremonies, stories, plants, or Mound Builder and Southeastern Woodland iconography are almost always present in her work.  Through her art, she communicates that it is the perpetuation of culture, ceremony, and language that keeps tribes alive and well.
