Corn bead necklace by Cherokee artist Louisa Soap. Clasp free and fitted to go over most heads. Approx. 28" total chain length.
The corn bead represents the tears that the Cherokee cried along the trail of tears.
According to legend, wherever a tear fell on the ground a corn stalk-like plant sprouted and the seeds were in the shape of tears. They are a grey color that represents the sorrow the Cherokee felt on the Trail.
