This blanket represents the enduring strength of Cherokee Nation's sovereignty, which is preserved and protected by the leaders of the Cherokee Nation, led by Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and Deputy Principal Chief Bryan Warner.  The design, created by Cherokee National Treasure Dan Mink, depicts a traditional copperhead pattern and three concentric circles to represent the administration's theme of Together:  Community - Family - Culture.

The eagle at the center guarding the Cherokee Nation seal represents our leaders' efforts to protect the sovereign rights of the tribe.  Hickory leaves behind the eagle demonstrate their strong and sturdy leadership.  The three rings surrounding the eagle depict the three branches of the tribe's government working together and leading us forward.  Surrounding the eagle are 14 stylized turkey feathers, representing the 14 counties that comprise the Cherokee Nation reservation and its strong future.
