A blaze of smoke tries to catch the sunset while the clouds paint the sky in spectacular fashion. This image was captured in the Great Smoky Mountains at Clingman's Dome, where it is believed to be the magic lake. According to the Cherokee tradition, hidden deep within the Smoky Mountains there is an enchanted lake that humans cannot see. Known as Atagahi, this magical lake is an oasis for animals of every kind, with thousands of waterbirds, fish, reptiles and bears enjoying its water.
