This is a sweet grass Fancy Basket made with sweet grass and dyed black ash splint. This basket is an artistic interpretation of what a blue strawberry might look like if it existed in the real world.

About the Artist
I'm Mohawk from Akwesasne and still live here with my family. I have been making baskets since 2016, when I learned from my mother. My daughter was organizing a pow-wow at her university and asked me and my mother to set up to sell our baskets. Since then, I've started attending art markets to sell my baskets, and I've entered art competitions.
