About the Artist
I was born and raised in Cherokee County, where I still reside. I learned a lot of crafty things from a young girl by watching my mother, Cherokee National Treasure basket maker Bessie Russell. At 86, she still makes baskets, and she is still encouraging and influencing me to keep the tradition going.
