About the Artist

Crystal has dedicated two decades of her career to community organizing, policy advocacy, and grants management and administration on behalf of tribal communities and communities of color. Residing within occupied Dakota territory, she operates an in-home cultural design studio specializing in modern custom beadwork, uplifting themes of Indigenous beauty, joy, and resistance to white supremacy and U.S. imperialism. Her creative practice centers on healing from PTSD. In February 2023, she launched a consulting practice to provide event planning, strategic planning, project management, research and evaluation services to tribal communities and communities of color. Past clients include the Minnesota Native Artist Alliance, Racing Magpie, and United Southern and Eastern Tribes, to name a few.
