About the Artist
Crystal Hanna is a citizen of Cherokee Nation living in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1999, Hanna was mentored by Anna Mitchell, a master potter and Cherokee National Treasure. Hanna has been creating, showing and teaching traditional pottery techniques since that time. Her inspiration comes from her ancient ancestors who once lived in the Southeastern United States. Her story has been documented in season six, episode one of “Osiyo, Voices of the Cherokee People,” which can be viewed on YouTube and osiyo.tv. Crystal will be making her 22nd appearance at the 2025 Santa Fe Indian Art Market in August. It is her honor to represent Cherokee Nation with this beautiful art form.
